A member of THE GOLD ANGLE staff called BLM and talked about gold panning, ONLY a little gold pan, in Oregon's rivers, creeks, etc. Here's what we found out: One can use a gold pan anywhere as long as it is NOT PRIVATE PROPERTY, SOMEONE'S CLAIM or is posted NO TRESPASSING.
Now, in the Free Take Out Mineral areas one can use a sluice box in the river as well as a pan.
